Vina Ruth Brummett, 83, of Bright, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. She was born July 26, 1934 in Corbin, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elmer and Amy (Richardson) Litton. Ruth loved her flowers and her garden.

she liked to cook and crochet. She enjoyed gospel music. She worked in housekeeping at Mercy Hospital.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, James L Brummett; son, James D (Diane) Brummett of Hamilton, OH; daughter, Linda (Ken) Meyer of Milford, OH; brother, Bill (Nancy) Litton of Corbin, KY; 2 grandchildren, Courtney (Matthew) Miller, Malia Mitchum; 3 great grandchildren, Caydence Miller, Kierstyn Miller, and Kasey Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Amy Litton; 2 sisters; and 6 brothers. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2 pm, with Ken Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery, Bright, Indiana. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
