OBITUARY Vincent “Sonny” DeGeorge July 10, 1938 – December 11, 2018 Vincent (Sonny) DeGeorge was born in Bryan, Texas on July 10, 1938. At the age of two the family moved to Houston, Texas where Sonny resided until Our Lord Jesus Christ called him home, December 11, 2018. He is preceded in death by father Sam and mother Sarah DeGeorge and sister Marie Russo Box.
Like his father, Sonny was a master boot and shoe repairman (as was his father); his work was respected throughout the industry. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. He was kind and compassionate to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Palma (Pam) Ricca DeGeorge. Son, Vincent Dwayne DeGeorge, wife Karen, grandson Daren DeGeorge, granddaughter Danielle Luedecke and her husband David, great grandson Brody Luedecke. Son, Jason DeGeorge, wife Anne, grandsons Lane and Blake DeGeorge.
Dearest brother Sam DeGeorge and wife Charlotte. Sonny’s passion was family, fishing, bird hunting, and poker. The family is grateful for all the prayers and kindnesses offered during Sonny’s time of illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with Deacon Nick Thompson of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and Pastor Rob Morris of River Pointe Church officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lou Carter, Kelly Ginn, Ryan Ricca, Charles Piserelle, Daren DeGeorge, Lane DeGeorge with Randall Jensen and Blake DeGeorge as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to a charity of your choice. A special thank you to Shirley Spears, Charles Piserelle, Lou Carter, and Kelly Ginn, for their love and support through the years.
