Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies are extended to the family of Viola Brooks-Smith during their time of bereavement. Viola Brooks Smith was born November 15, 1921 in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late James Albert Brooks and Emma (Tyree) Brooks.

Viola came to Boston at an early age. She attended the Cambridge High Schools and graduated from Cambridge High School and Latin School. Viola joined the Columbus AME Zion Church in 1949 under the leadership of Rev.

Aaron Perry. Viola was a class leader, missionary worker, and belonged to the Benevolent Committee. Viola loved the Senior Bible Class and was a loyal member.

Viola retired from the Harvard Street Health Center in 1985. Viola leaves to mourn a host of cousins, other loving relatives and friends and will be sorely missed.
