Obituary for Virgil Wayne Schroeder Virgil Schroeder, 82, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2018. Virgil was born to the late Edwin and Irene Schroeder on April 19, 1936. He was blessed with a large and loving family and will be dearly missed by all.

He spent most of his life as a painting contractor forming a family business with his son Mike. He had a special gift, and was at his happiest, in caring for young children and animals. Virgil is survived by his wife, Lupe; his sons Robert Taylor, Michael (Julie), Alan (Elena), George (Nancy), Daniel (Regina) Schroeder, his daughters Sandy Mangum (Randy), and Joann Fernandez, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Cheryl Branard (Bill).

He is preceded in death by his son, JR Schroeder; his parents; brother Robert Woodard and his sister Penny Mecke. A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Vada S. Hagee Prayer Chapel at Cornerstone Church, 18755 Stone Oak Parkway, San Antonio, Texas, 78258. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Private interment to follow.
