OBITUARY Virginia “Ginger” Stahl March 7, 1924 – July 21, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Funeral services will be conducted for Virginia “Ginger” Stahl, age 94, on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 11:00am at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Deacon Mike Wise officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Mausoleum. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00am.
Virginia (Ginger) Jean Williams Stahl was born in Pueblo, Colorado on March 7, 1924, the second daughter of John Angelo and Rose Marie Clementi Williams. She was raised as a farmer’s daughter in Pueblo, CO. On September 8, 1945 Ginger married Roy D. Stahl, Jr. of Pontiac, Illinois and became a military spouse.
To this marriage was born two daughters, Cheryl and Judith. Ginger spent most of her adult life following Roy to various military bases and cities including Clovis, New Mexico, Etain Air Force Base in Verdan, France, Edwards Air Force Base in Lancaster, CA; Eielson AFB in Fairbanks, AK; St. Louis, MO and Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, LA. Ginger rapidly became known as an outstanding cook and homemaker.
She loved dressing in feminine clothing and was always meticulously groomed. She loved flowers. One of the many cherished sentiments that expressed the love shared was when Roy would hand pick a pink rose from their rose garden almost daily and hand it to Ginger, saying, “for you, my love”.
In the latter years of her life, her hobbies included, staying informed of her grandchildren’s involvements and ventures in life and as well as going to the casino where she was one of the world’s luckiest winners. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, her parents, and sisters, Frances Williams, Rose Montera, Christina Williams Salvo, Mary Sue Williams Shoemaker and JoAnn Williams Gregory. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Rohrbach (Marvin) and Judith Roi Stahl; grandchildren, Virginia C. DeVenney (Eric), Roy D. Rohrbach (Sarah) and Mary Rose Rohrbach, and great grandchildren, Anna, Jackson, Nathanael, Cortland, Lucas and Thaddeus DeVenney and Ean, Drew, Caleb, and Amelia Rohrbach and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chester Wroten, Eric DeVenney, Roy Rohrbach, Ean Rohrbach, Jack DeVenney and Anna DeVenney. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Chester and Ernestine Wroten. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
