Obituary for Virginia I. Restano Virginia I. Restano, 95, of Remington, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at I. U. Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Indiana. Virginia moved to Remington, Indiana IN 1993, having lived in San Francisco and Sonora, California for many years. She was born in McCook, Nebraska on October 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Clyde H. and Blanchie A. (Howell) Atkinson.

Virginia attended Red Willow School in Nebraska, graduating with the class of 1940. She went on to attend McCook Community College. Virginia was employed for thirty-three years as a supervisor with the State of California Public Utilities Commission in San Francisco.

Her marriage was in Lake Tahoe, California in October, 1977, to Odillo R. Restano who preceded her in death on October 22, 1980. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rensselaer and the Ladies Missionary Circle at the church. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, Carol (Dean) Jensen, Rochester, IN, Donna Reynolds, Remington, IN, Larry Atkinson, Monticello, IN, Charlie Doan, Kentland, IN, Steve Atkinson, Pontiac, IL and Deb Marion, DeMotte, IN and many cousins.

Along with her parents and her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Friends will be received at the First Baptist Church in Rensselaer on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. cst. Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 12:00 p.m. cst on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Rensselaer with Pastor Dan Hester officiating.

Burial will follow at Remington Cemetery in Remington, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 2010 N. McKinley Avenue, Rensselaer, Indiana 47978. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Virginia I. Restano please visit our Sympathy Store.
