OBITUARY Virginia Lee Herrington December 10, 1926 – December 16, 2018 Virginia Lee Herrington, 92, passed away on December 16, 2018 in Portland, Oregon. She was born on December 10, 1926 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Frederick and Ella (Strommen) Fabian. She attended Fergus Falls High School.

Virginia married Wilbur Herrington, and shortly after their marriage they moved to Idaho, where she worked as a Bookkeeper. They lived in Idaho until 1952, when they moved to Portland. She then began her career as a Bookkeeper for David Douglas School District.

She retired after 25 years of service. Virginia and Wilbur ran a Ski School, which she greatly enjoyed. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, cross stitching, playing bridge and watching sports (especially the Viking’s).

Wilbur passed away on May 21, 2002, after 53 years of marriage. They had two children, Bill and Diane. Virginia married her second husband, Herb Wilkerson, on January 12, 2004.

Virginia and Herb spent winters in Oregon, and summers in Minnesota. During the winter, they attended Gateway Church in Portland. During the summer, they attended Hope Church in Minneapolis.

They spent 14 wonderful years together. Virginia will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and wittiness. She was a strong woman, and remained so until the end.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wilbur Herrington. She is survived by her husband, Herb Wilkerson; her children, Bill Herrington (wife Renee) and Diane Nutter (husband Bob); sister Phyllis; grandchildren, Heidi, Colby, Blake, Jayne and Jillian; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
