OBITUARY Virginia T. Newton September 30, 1939 – February 1, 2019 Virginia “Ginny” Newton, of Oakdale Connecticut, gently slipped into the arms of the Lord, unexpectedly, on February 1st, at the Groton Regency Nursing Home. She was born on September 9th, 1939 to the late Evelyn and Russell Taylor. Ginny attended local schools and was an employee at Pratt and Whitney.

She married Morton “Newt” Newton Jr. who predeceased her . She was active in the Montville VFW Post 10060 and served as president of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She had a great love of her pet dogs and amazon parrot “Thor”.

She traveled and enjoyed having her grandchildren and flowers around her. She is survived by her children and their spouses which include: Kristen Newton Cooley and Shawn, Robert Cooper and Bonnie, her grandchildren: Taylor, Samantha, Connor, and Caden. Our family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Groton Regency for their care and compassion shown our mother during her stay with them.

Services will be held on Friday, February 8th at 100:00 AM at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich / New London Turnpike, in Uncasville, CT. Burial will follow in the Comstock Cemetery, Depot Rd. Uncasville.
