Virginia was born August 19, 1933, at Fort Yates, ND, the daughter of Frank & Katherine (Frank) Wetzstein. She was the oldest of 7, growing up and graduating from West Fargo High School.

On October 18 1952, Virginia married her high school sweetheart Donald Westman. She worked several jobs but found her true calling working for the Fargo Forum for 23 years selling advertising. She followed up working for the West Fargo Pioneer until she finally retired from advertising.

During those years she also worked alongside Donald in their family business Dons Body Shop in West Fargo. Virginia and Donald found a true passion in Trapshooting! They were founding members of the West Fargo Gun Club and when the club moved to Horace, they followed for a few years.

Many close long lasting friendships formed and a lifetime of memories were made during those years. She was a tireless champion for organizations who needed donations. If your group needed something from a few pies to, say a car, that women would get it done.

She was relentless and would make sure you got what you needed for a successful fundraising event. She just could not help people enough. Our mothers true love was her family, grand and great grandchildren.

Family gatherings and holidays were so very important to her. She loved to sit and watch her family kid with each other and her great grandchildren run around laughing and playing. And OH how we are going to miss her potato salad in Great Grandmas Bowl!

! NO one could make it like Mom! And there was just something about that bowl… Our mother was honored by Blessed Sacrament Church in 2002 by being named Mother of the Year!

She was simply the best. Virginia was a tireless good and faithful servant. She always went without so her loved ones could have first.

She looked for ways to help anyone and everyone emotionally, financially, spiritually. physically and always with love. Mom was the Peacekeeper of the family.

She gave of herself every day, showed each of us how to live life to the fullest and to always be humble and kind.
