Obituary of Virginia Garofano Virginia Filumena Antonia Garofano (nee Nucci), 94, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Little Egg Harbor where she was surrounded by her family. Born in Paterson on January 16, 1924 to the late Domenico and Christina (Brunetti) Nucci, Virginia lived with her husband in Totowa for 50 years before moving to Toms River and then to Little Egg Harbor. Virginia worked as a telephone operator at Sears in Wayne before her retirement.
She was the beloved wife of Vincent until his passing in 1998. She was the cherished mother of Kristine Garofano, Debra Mancini and Vincent Garofano; the treasured grandmother of Kara and Thomas Mancini, Alyssa Ramirez, Vincent Garofano and Michael Garofano and his children and also a great-grandmother to Austin Vincent and Ava Grace Mancini. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Kapolka and her brother Vincent Nucci and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Angelic Hospice in Northfield, NJ for their compassionate care team. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00am-2:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave. , Woodland Park, NJ.
A funeral service will begin at 2pm at Santangelo Funeral Home and entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
