Vivian Irene Slater, age 72 of Vesper, WI died on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI. Vivian was the daughter of Ervin L. and Ellen L. (DeFord) Slater and was born on February 9, 1947 in Mather, WI. Vivian attended Mather Schools, and then went to High School in Tomah.

She later moved to Chicago, IL until 1974, when they moved back to Wisconsin. She met Elbert Saylor in 1965 and they were together for 42 years. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Vivian is survived by her children, April Dawn (Brian) Swanson of Zion, IL, Renee Saylor of Vesper, WI, and Kimberly McKinley of WI, brother, Tom Slater of Vesper, WI, daughters, Gloria (William) Darr of Babcock, WI, and Mary (Dave) Turner of Tomah, WI, 3 grandchildren, Tiffny Saylor, Branden McKinley, Stephanie McKinley, 5 great grandchildren, and further survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her companion Elbert, a granddaughter Sara Strack, sisters, Lavigna Williams, Betsy Slater, Sandy Peterson, brothers, Arthur Sr., Erving Jr., Robert, David, Ernest, Louis, Richard, and Larry Slater. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St) in New Lisbon.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday at the Hare Funeral Home from 9:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather, WI. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with services.
