Obituary for Vivian Joyce Glover-Simmons On August 30, 1956, Howard and Lou Addie Glover were blessed with a little girl whom they named Vivian. She attended Hempstead High School in Hempstead, Texas and obtained both a Bachelor’s of Science in Management and Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She worked at Prairie View A&M University for 24 years as a Administrative Assistant II under Professor Ronald Boyd with the Thermal Science Research Center (TSRC).

Vivian was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Precious Jewels Chapter 504. She was a member of the Greater St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church in Hempstead, Texas, under the Leadership of Pastor Fred Thomas, III. On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Vivian went home to be with her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by parents Howard and Lou Addie Glover; one brother James Glover, Sr. and two sisters Ruby Ann Glover and Patricia Glover; uncles Jimmie L. and James “Bud” Glover; aunts Beth “Alice”, Mary, Betty Jean, and Dorothy. Her loving memories will be cherished by: her husband, Ira Don Simmons; son George Howard Pope and daughter Nichole Broussard; brothers Howard Glover, Jr. (Doris) and Ben Glover Sr. (Sharon); sisters Betty Thomas, Debbie Tyler (Jerald), Ruth Ann Wolfe (Clarence), Sharon Thibodeaux (Lanny), Karon Martin (Brad), Linda Lue Campbell (E.L. Campbell, Jr.); one sister-in-law Pearlie Glover; She will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins and friends.
