Wm. C. “Bill” Rowden January 08, 1932 – May 02, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Wm. C. “Bill” Rowden, age 88, of Dixon, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his home.

He was born in Maries County on January 8, 1931, son of the late Almon and Mable (Curtman) Rowden. On January 19, 1952, in Hardy, Arkansas, Bill married Twila Nadine McKee, who preceded him in death on November 11, 2006. Bill honorably served in the United States Armed forces during the Korean War.

He obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class in the Combat Engineer Division. Upon his return from Korea, he was employed by MODOT, where he retired after 33 years. Those who knew Bill knew he was an avid gun, knife, and coin trader.

He and Nadine spent many hours traveling to flea markets, swap meets and yard sales. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Clay Rowden and wife Rebecca of Jefferson City and Stanley Wayne Rowden and wife Cindy of Bonne Terre; two daughters, Twila Ann Sinden of Dixon and Della Beth Lindley and husband Wade of St. Thomas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Carroll of Vienna and Beulah Humphrey of Florissant; one brother, Jerry Rowden and wife Susie of Harrisonville2; brother-in-law, Bud Riemensnider; sister-in-law, Donna Rowden; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dallas Sinden; two brothers, Clifford Ray Rowden and Donald Earl Rowden; and three sisters, Lillie Barton, Helen Riemensnider, and Eula Rotter. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Monday, May 6, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Richard Sinden officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Wheeler Cemetery near Dixon.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Wheeler Cemetery or Compassus Hospice of Osage Beach.
