OBITUARY Wallace K. Brown July 21, 1928 – September 26, 2018 Wallace K. Brown, age 90, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, September 26,2018 at Kindred Hospice, Columbus, Georgia. Memorial services are scheduled at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 69 Mobley Road, Hamilton, Georgia on Friday, September 28,2018, 2 p.m., with Reverend Christine Belt officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, Alabama. Private interment will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 27,2018 from 5-7 p.m. Mr. Brown, son of the late Oscar Marvin Brown, Sr. and Cleo Kindred Brown, was born July 21, 1928 in Phenix City, Alabama. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Brown was Probate Judge of Russell County from 1973 till 1993.

He also served as President, State of Alabama Probate Judges Association in 1981. Mr. Brown was a lifelong member and deacon of Lakewood Baptist Church and also a member of the Russell County Lions Club. He was a gentleman who loved his family and always enjoyed bird hunting.

Besides his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by two brothers, O.M. Brown, Jr. and Mark D. Brown. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann Brown of Phenix City, Alabama; one son, Kin Brown and his wife Beth of Hamilton, Georgia; grandson, Jeb Brown and his fiance’ Sarah Gordon; granddaughter, Abby Brown; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
