Obituary for Walter J. Reilly Reilly, Walter J Troy, NY, Port Richey FL Walter J. Reilly, 90, entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in a peaceful hospice setting surrounded by family in Port Richey, Florida. Born in South Troy on March 8, 1928, he was the eldest of ten children of the late Walter C. Reilly and Grace LaBelle Reilly. He was the loving husband of 56 years to the late Bertila Holness Reilly, married at St. Anthony’s Church of Montreal in 1952.

Walt worked for 46 years for John A. Manning Paper Company in Green Island, NY. He served in the Marine Corps in China during WWII, was a member of the China Marine Association, Ding Hao Chapter, Tientsin (1946). He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5800, Waterford, NY, the American Legion, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Polish American Club.

Walt was a devoted father of four children, sons Kevin, Michael (Kerri) and Peter (Cynthia) Reilly and daughter Debbie (Gary) Favro. He was proud of his grandchildren, Don (Amy) and Kim Favro, Tristan Reilly, Devin Reilly and Briana (Brent) Brown, Nathan and Emma Reilly. He was blessed to have five great- grandchildren, Roman Reilly, Kole, Jack and Fitz Favro and Paul Brown.

He looked forward to being reunited with his beloved sisters and brothers who went before him, Mary Grace (Edward) Barlow, Barbara Comi, Jack, Joseph and James (Jean) Reilly. Loving sisters and brothers surviving are Doris (Robert) Moak, Eileen (late Ken) Burton, Donald (late Chris) and Edward and Elaine Reilly, Tom Comi and Florita Reilly. Walt had been a communicant and usher of St. Michael’s RC Church in Troy, as well as St. Michael the Archangel Church in Port Richey, Florida for over 65 years.

His life was celebrated in a memorial service in Port Richey by his family and many friends, especially his fiancée Betty Smith. A memorial service will be held in Troy at St. Michael’s RC Church on Saturday, July 13th. Interment will follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery.

The large Reilly family will gather for a reunion on Sunday, July 14th in honor of Uncle Wally, a man with a big heart and a hearty laugh. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Walter J. Reilly please visit our Sympathy Store.
