Walter Y. Reedy, 96, formerly of East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 5:40 am in The Highlands at Wyomissing Skilled Nursing Unit. He was the husband of the late Dorothy J. (Lerch) Reedy who passed away January 1, 2008. Born in Spring Township, Mr. Reedy was the son of the late Walter C. and Laura A. (Yost) Reedy.

He was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Sinking Spring and was a farmer by trade and owner of a trucking business. Mr. Reedy retired from the Borough of Sinking Spring and later retired from Reedy’s Mulch Products at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his son Byron L. Reedy, husband of Sheila M. Reedy of Denver, PA and his daughter Marilyn K. Reedy of Phoenix, Arizona and his grandchildren Lori Hagy, Bronson Reedy, Justin Creasy, Jared Creasy and 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Mr. Reedy is also survived by his sister Ethel Y. Kreider of Sinking Spring and was preceded in death by his sister Edith Y. Holtzman. Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm.

Susan F. Weisman will officiate. Interment will follow in Sinking Spring Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Friday 12:00-2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. John’s Reformed Church 4001 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring or Grane Hospice 1012 West 9th Ave. Suite 120, King of Prussia, PA 19406 in memory of Mr. Walter Y. Reedy.
