OBITUARY Wanda Janet Carnes August 29, 1935 – November 9, 2018 Wanda J. Carnes, 83 of Rand was lifted up in the Lord’s arms at 11:30p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018. Wanda was a retired cook from the Kanawha County School System. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman B. and Icie M. O’Dell and daughter, Candeth L. Riley.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Richard L. Carnes; daughter, Denice K. Esterly of Georgia; sisters, Norma L. Abston of Ohio and Twila J. O’Dell of Rand; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:00p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Rev. Jack Gregory officiating.

The burial will be at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville at 3:00p.m. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to Kanawha Charleston Humane Association at 1248 Greenbrier St., Charleston, WV 25311.
