Wanda, fondly referred to as “Nonny” by many, was born on September 28, 1936 to Willis Van and Lucy Miranda Baker Bass in Terrell, Texas. She graduated from Terrell High School before marrying and moving to Dallas, where she was employed as an apartment manager and raised two children, Stan and Bev. Throughout her life, Wanda had a passion for animals, her family, and gardening.

She was the life of the party, and her trademark laugh was contagious and unforgettable. She enjoyed family gatherings and serving her loved ones with generous hospitality and great home cooking, including her famous chocolate chip cookies. Wanda took pride in her green thumb, winning yard of the month on multiple occasions.

Her house was decorated inside and out for every major holiday, and she delighted in dressing up and handing out candy to the neighborhood children each Halloween. All will remember Wanda for her generous spirit, fierce loyalty, and abundant sense of humor. She was preceded in death by both parents, her sister, Margie Bass Nelson, and brother, Willis James Bass.

She is survived by husband, Mack Coker of Lindale, TX; children, Stanley Hughes of Crandall, TX; Beverly Hughes and husband, Rick Lambert of Lindale, TX; Thomas Coker and wife, Jeanne of Huntsville, TX; grandchildren, Miranda Lambert and husband, Brendan McLoughlin of Nashville, TN; Luke Lambert and Marc Allende of Austin, TX; Kyle Coker of Huntsville, TX; sisters-in-law, Faye Welch of Tyler and Jeannie Bass pf Port Huron , MI; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of good friends, and her beloved dog, Delilah. Wanda’s family will hold a private service following her cremation.
