Obituary for Wanda Mae Rawls A graveside service for Wanda Mae Rawls, age 90, of Rusk is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2018 at Cook Cemetery with Rev. Charles Nunnally officiating. Mrs. Rawls passed away December 14, 2018 in Rusk.

She was born January 23, 1928 in Allen, Oklahoma to the late Henry and Virginia Couie Yeargan. Mrs. Rawls was a longtime resident of Rusk and a member of Adams Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a columnist for the Cherokeean Herald’s Welcome to Rusk articles and enjoyed painting art and was known for the best tasting pecan pies around, a recipe that is loved and shared among her many grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Roland Ray Rawls in 2006. She leaves behind four generations of family including a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Richard Holcomb of Rusk, two granddaughters, Melisa Adams and husband Chris of Rusk, Cindy Rainey and husband Johnny of Rusk, six great grandchildren including Michael Andrew Houston of Whitehouse, TX, Courtney Hart, Samantha Carroll, Christa Crump all of Rusk, Makiea Burke of Ft. Scott, KS, Megan Rainey of Jacksonville, TX, nine great great grandchildren and a bother-in-law, Merle Massey of Arkansas.
