alz.org/ “And when she dies she says she’ll catch some blackbird’s wing, and she will fly away to Heaven come some sweet blue bonnet spring” – Nanci Griffith Forest Fashions – Autumn season is almost here It’s my favorite time of year Trees seem to be models preparing a fall fashion parade As their leaves of green begin to fade. One seems to say, as high she holds her head: “I’m the most beautiful in my gown of red”. Another, tall, sleek and bold, Says “Look at me dressed in shimmering gold”.
A tall willow, swishing soft and mellow, Towers above the others in bright, sunny yellow. To complete the scene, there’s one whose feathery fronds Are a blazing blend of rust, orange and bronze. Then chilly winds begin to blow And bring an end to their Fall Show.
They dance a sensual bend and sway As their colorful garments are stripped away. Then comes their Winter Show As they don coats of white-mink snow. And to add an extra dash of spice They flaunt sparkling silver jewels of ice.
After a time they begin to strut and preen And show us again lovely shades of green. This is their special Fashion-Fling To herald and greet the coming Spring! – Wanda Sue Hobbs Hurst SERVICES Funeral Service Tuesday, March 26, 2019 2:00 PM Watermark Community Church Chapel – Dallas Campus 7540 Lyndon B.
