Obituary for Warren Edward Muir Print Warren Edward Muir, known to his friends and co-workers as “Eddie” passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and his family on January 24, 2019 at the age of 80. He completed his life’s work and journey on his best friend and older brother’s birthday, the late Dr. Robert W. Muir. They are now celebrating eternal happiness together with their parents, Warren and Agnes Muir, who preceded them both into heaven.
Despite a life-long disability, he worked hard throughout his entire life at various restaurants, nursing homes and most recently at the Reading Hospital where he retired in 2005. Every morning for over 20 years, Eddie walked to work where he assisted in the laundry and dietary sections of Reading Hospital. Eddie loved people.
He loved his friends at Phoebe Berks where he resided for over 10 years following his retirement. He loved the Phillies and the Eagles and hated the Cowboys. He truly enjoyed life.
Born in Philadelphia on April 27, 1938, Eddie was raised in the Malvern area. He moved with his mother Agnes to join his late brother, Dr. Muir and his family in Maryland before settling in Berks County area. He is survived by his sister-in-law M.L. Muir and her seven children, who are his nieces and nephews.
Eddie was very close to his nephew John Muir and his wife Jennifer, and their three daughters, Alexis, Alicia, and Anya. John and Jennifer Muir assisted and provided care for Eddie for the past 25 years. He is also survived by his nephew Tom Muir and his wife Lucy (Ceballos) and their daughter Lauren Workman and her husband Even Workman.
His niece Terri Muir Fromwiller and her husband John Fromwiller, and Terri’s children Paul and Mark Gapinski and Diane Neubauer and her husband Andrew Neubauer and their son Luke. His nephew R. James Muir and his wife Lynne and their children Benjamin and Natalie. His niece Geraldine Muir.
His niece Christine Muir Parker and husband Alex Parker and their children Anna and Ryan. And his nephew Tim Muir and his wife Lee. Funeral arrangements are being supported by Kuhn Funeral Home.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 29th from 8:30 am to 10:30 am with a Catholic Mass and funeral to be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish at 2700 Saint Albans Drive, Reading, PA on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.
