Obituary of Watson Fitzgerald Funeral services for Watson Fitzgerald age 84 of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Monday January 28, 2019 graveside at the Old Union Cemetery at Grayson with Rev. A. B. Masters officiating. Services are under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Watson was born on June 6, 1934 at Cottonplant, LA to the union of his parents Eddie “L D” Fitzgerald and Fleda Watson Fitzgerald and he passed from this life on Friday January 25, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. Watson was a retired employee of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and loved the simple things in life. He loved to ride his horse.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by four brothers, Ed, Waitsel, Bobby Gene and Bill and four sisters: Julie, Maxine, Gloria Jean and Geraldine. He was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter: Jaylin Kinsley Jones and a nephew: Kenneth Ray Fitzgerald. Survivors include his son: Scotty Ray Fitzgerald and wife Melinda of Columbia and his daughter: Tracy Bruce and husband Robby of Columbia; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include: Caleb Duke, Walter Simmons, Tyral Fitzgerald, Tanner Rolen, Tyler Cupples and Adam Bruce.
