Voluntown – Wayne A. Lachapelle, 54, of Voluntown passed away at home on May 26, 2018. Wayne was born in Norwich, CT on May 1, 1964 a son to Aila M. (Mallinen) Lachapelle and the late Richard J. Lachapelle. Wayne was a loving father whose kids meant the world to him.
He was active in church and loved Jesus with all his heart, always willing to discuss the Bible. Although he’ll be deeply missed, we’re sure he wouldn’t want you to be sad about his death, as he knew he’d spend eternity with Christ. As Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, we choose to picture him in heaven fishing with his Dad.
He was always willing to help someone in need; always available to donate his time. If you’d like to honor his memory we suggest you take a friend fishing or help your neighbor. In addition to his mother he is survived by his children Lily E. Lachapelle, Eli Lachapelle and Levi Lachapelle of Voluntown; ex-wife Christelle M. Lachapelle; sisters Kathy L. Stickman and husband Mel of Voluntown, Donna Lachapelle of Willimantic; stepsisters Starlene O’Neal of Ohio, Jessica McLaughlin of Waterford; nieces Kayla E. MacPhail and Brittany L. Stickman of Voluntown, nephew Justin M. Stickman of Bradford, RI and his stepmother Rosalyn Lachapelle of Voluntown.
There will be a funeral service on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the Living Word Fellowship Church in Voluntown at 1PM with a burial to follow within the Robbins Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home.
