Wayne “Chopper” Ennis February 08, 1949 – February 28, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Mr. John Wayne Ennis, age 70, beloved husband of Gloria Jean Smith White Ennis passed away on Thursday morning, February 28, 2019 at their home in Dublin, Georgia. Wayne was a 2nd generation Logger, following in his father’s footsteps since the age of 18, earning himself the nickname of “Chopper”. He had worked for Carey Logging in Alamo for many years.

He and his wife worshipped at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Cedar Grove. Mr. Ennis had served as Pastor of the Old Time Gospel House of Prayer in Lyons and was the voice of the “Lord’s Messenger” on local radio broadcasts. He was a U. S. Army Veteran.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastors Scott Davidson and Randall Rymes officiating. His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 1:00 pm until the hour of service. Mr. Ennis will be laid to rest in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery.
