Obituary for Wayne Palmer Memorial Mass for David Wayne Palmer, 60, of Mentor, will be noon Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road in Mentor. Mass will be officiated by Father Tom Johns. Family will receive friends one hour before the start of Mass at the church.

Private burial services will be held at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. Wayne died July 11 after a short but courageous fight against lung cancer. He was born July 22, 1957, in Brownsville, Pa.

, to Mildred and David Palmer. Wayne worked for the Mill-Rose Co. for more than 40 years, starting in the shipping department as a teenager, to eventually overseeing the plant’s manufacturing operations. He also felt a part of the Miller family.

He was an avid sports fan and a longtime softball player. Some of his best times were spent on the diamond with his softball buddies. Wayne is survived by his wife, Robin, who calls him the one and only love of her life.

They were married nearly 36 years. He is also survived by brothers, Scott (Debbie) Palmer; Shawn (Shona) Palmer; sisters, Maura (John) Palmer and Moya Palmer; brothers-in-law Mark (Susan) George and Warren (Lisa) George; several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son.
