Obituary for Weldon Bay Barker Weldon Bay Barker, 78, of Foster, WV, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, after a short illness. He was born in Bandytown, WV on May 9, 1940 and was a 1958 graduate of Van High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Weldon was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA and Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 170.

His mother, Jean Gunnoe; brother, William Gunnoe; and daughter, Stacey Barker preceded him in death. Weldon was a loving husband to his wife of 55 years, Lyda Jones Barker; and father to his daughters, Kara Barker Price (Bret Price) and Marla Barker Brown (Jeremy Brown); five grandchildren, Shane Price, Cory Price, Hannah Bennett, Kacie Brown, and Emma Brown; brothers, Jeff Gunnoe and Barry Gunnoe; sister, Billie Jean Morgan; and many loving extended family members and friends. Service will be officiated by Scott Bowman at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with visitation beginning at 1 o’clock p.m..

Weldon will be buried among family at Mid-Ferrell cemetery in Bandytown, WV. The family would like to thank the staff at Hubbard House Hospice facility that treated him with such kindness and compassion.
