Weldon Harold Eggler August 13, 1929 – April 30, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Weldon Harold Eggler, 89, of Dodge Center, MN passed away Tuesday April 30, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Weldon was born on August 13, 1929 in Rochester, MN to Harold and Esther Eggler. He grew up on a farm in Farmington Township in Olmsted County.

Weldon joined the Marines in 1952. He married his wife, Helen (Dolly) B. Simon on December 19, 1953. Together they had ten children.

Weldon worked many jobs including; farming, a Union Carpenter, and at a Co-Op gas station. He built the first carpenter shop at Haverhill Farmstead. He retired in 1992 from Union Carpentry and he moved to Wisconsin to fish.

He enjoyed building furniture and fishing. Weldon and Helen moved back to Dodge Center, MN in 2013 where he continued to build in a shop. Weldon is survived by his wife; sisters, Dolores (Walter) Ersland, Ardell Hunt, and Sheryl Felland; children, Denise (Neal) Koenck, W. Harold Eggler, Anita (Barry) Johnson, Steve Eggler, Todd (Laura) Eggler, Eric (Melissa) Eggler, Kyle (Heather) Eggler, Dan (Toni) Eggler, and Jodi Eggler; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Eggler; brother’s, DuWayne Eggler and Larry Eggler. A memorial service for Weldon will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 7, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st St SE Hayfield, MN 55940 with Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday May 6, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 501 2nd St NW Hayfield, MN 55940 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
