Mr. Wendell “Buddy” Howard Raines age 67 of Evergreen, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 unexpectedly. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Arkadelphia Church Cemetery with Steve Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Cope Keahey Funeral Home.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Jean McClammy Raines of Evergreen; son: Michael Raines of East Brewton; daughter: Michele (Tim) Brantley of Evergreen; brothers: Phillip (Sammie) Hamrac of Prattville and Eddie Hamrac of Flomaton; grandchildren: T.K. Brantley, Ashley (Steven) Jackson, Amber (Wendy) Raines and Evan Raines; great grandchildren: Conner Jackson and Hunter Jackson. Mr. Raines is preceded in death by his son Wendell Marcus Raines; parents Bonnie Tanner and Louie Winfred Raines and sister Linda Raines. Mr. Raines was self-employed in the logging business for 20 plus years.
For the past 12 years he has enjoyed gardening and selling produce at the farmers market in Evergreen. Pallbearers are Mike Webb, Michael Bradley, Jimmy Brown, Rodney Salter, Leroy Salter and Tim Brantley.
