Wendy Lynn Torres, age 48, died May 6, 2019 in Meade County, KS. She was born July 20, 1970 in Shelbyville, IN, the daughter of Bruce and Sandra (Watson) Lester. She had obtained her GED.

On February 14, 2002 she married Manuel Torres in Dodge City, KS. He survives. She was a devoted wife, mother and loved being a grandma.

She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary at National Beef Packing Company, LLC in Liberal, KS. Survivors include: Husband Manuel Torres Plains, KS Mother Sandra Lester Plains, KS 2 Sons Kevin Watson Plains, KS Joel Watson and wife Victoria Meade, KS 3 Daughters Diane Torres Gilbert, AZ Jennifer Torres and husband Jay Lien Ness City, KS Bianca Torres Plains, KS 1 Brother Joe Marks Golden City, MO 2 Grandchildren Isabella Bilducia and Evey Lien. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Lester.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 613 Superior Street, Plains, KS 67869 with Reverend Ted Skalsky celebrating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation; Wendy’s Guest Register Book will be available for signing on Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10, 2019 at Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd.
