Wilfredo “Fredo” Colon-LaPorte, 58, of York died Thursday, March 21, 2019 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Hipolita Estrada-LaPorte. Born July 13, 1960 in Guayama, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Carmen Colon.

Fredo was a member of Saint Mary’s Church. He was an amazing father, grandfather, uncle, and husband. Fredo was full of love and compassion.

He was selfless-always thinking about other people’s needs before his and looking for ways to help others. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 2 daughters, Cassandra Torres of York and Jasmine Torres of Dallastown; 3 sons, Devon Estrada of York and Kenny and Xavier LaPorte both of Connecticut; 2 grandchildren, Alina and Alekzander; a sister, Mandelyn Saez of Philadelphia; and 3 brothers, Saito Saez of York, Sammy Saez of Connecticut, and Misael Saez of Rhode Island. He was preceded in death by his son, Wilfredo LaPorte, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church, 309 South George Street, York, PA 17401.

Viewings will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market Street, York and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Contributions may be made to the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market Street, York, PA 17403 to help defray the cost of the funeral.
