Willard Darrell Brown age 46 of Whitwell and a native of DeKalb County, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his residence in Whitwell. He was born March 22, 1972 to his parents, the late Willard and Loretta Shoemake Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Tom Bowman.

Darrell was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran and a carpenter. He is survived by 3 children, Cheyenne Matthews of McMinnville, Jack and Seamus Brown both of Smithville; 1 grandson, Malachi Matthews; 2 brothers, Ricky Bowman of Carthage and Bobby Brown of Michigan; 4 sisters, Pam Bowman of Dowelltown, Kathy Knowles of Smithville, Karen and Connie both of Michigan; companion, Briana L. Zian of Whitwell. The family has honored Darrell’s request to be cremated and the will be a Public Celebration of Life Visitation held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel from 12 Noon until 2:PM.

The family will have a private memorial service later. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
