He was finally freed of Parkinson’s Disease that had plagued his body for over 20 years. He was born February 13, 1938, in Hoquiam, Washington.

He was adopted shortly after birth by Arthur William Meyer and Hazel Greenman. He married Nadine Hoem on July 25, 1964 in the Los Angeles, CA L.D.S. Temple. They later settled in Fremont, CA.

Bill is survived by his wife Nadine of 54 years, daughters Jenny (Austin) Martineau, Julie (Casey) Beard; Sisters, Barbara (Bob) Hines, Sandy Hampson; grandchildren Andrew Martineau, Nathan Martineau, Addison Beard, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by members of the Thomas Hampson family, who Bill discovered to be his natural family. Bill was a loving husband and a devoted father who would do anything for his family and friends.

Bill graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1956. He loved the members of his graduating class and kept in touch with most throughout his life. He was a 29-year-old freshman when he enrolled at Brigham Young University.

To say Bill loved sports would be an understatement. He loved it all! His absolute favorite was football.

He had once spent 3 years with the semi-pro football team, the Seattle Cavaliers. However, his favorite team was BYU. If a BYU game was playing, he could be found decked out in his blue and white in front of his TV, cheering them on.

In addition to sports, Bill loved to travel. He had fond memories from his youth of adventures in Alaska with his mother. He had the fortune of winning a trip to Puerto Vallarta that he and Nadine enjoyed together.

One of the family’s favorite vacation spots was Yosemite National Park. Other favorite places included Hawaii, Disneyland, Washington D.C, an Alaskan Cruise, Disney World, and trips back home to Washington State. Bill held a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime.

From building 707s for Boeing to helping chart navigational maps for the United States Coast & Geodetic Survey to driving school bus for Provo School District to being a substitute teacher for Fremont School District. He was finally recruited into the newly computer industry in the early 80’s where he held positions as an expeditor with Qume and Atari, finally making his way to a senior buyer with Valid Logic Systems. Bill eventually retired from Cadence Design Systems in ‘98, having gained friendships that lasted the rest of his life.
