Mr. William B. Jennings, Jr., 77, of Pittsfield, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in New York, NY, on July 25, 1941 the son of William and Anna Harrigan Jennings, he attended schools in New York. He later earned his Bachelor’s degree from Iona College.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Jennings was a CPA who was passionate about business. Prior to his current position as Controller for Hallowell Engineering in Pittsfield, Mr. Jennings was an entrepreneur, past owner of Superior Cleaners, Armed Vehicle Builders and Fantastic Sam’s.

He moved to Pittsfield with his family after many years as VP of Finance at Starcraft Enterprises RV in Elkhart, IN. He was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph Church where he was an active volunteer and a Eucharistic Minister. He volunteered delivering the Eucharist to Berkshire Medical Center and provided ministry services to Berkshire House of Correction and for HospiceCare of Western Mass.

He was also a volunteer at the Marian Fathers in Stockbridge. Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, the former Karen Cleary, whom he married on August 8, 1964. He is also survived by his children, Bill Jennings, Sean Jennings, Julie Jennings and Kevin Jennings; a sister, Marianne Devitt and three grandchildren, Joseph Jennings, Lily Jennings and Zoe Jennings.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert E. Jennings. Bill Jennings was a Veteran and dutiful Family-man. He was a Champion of Good, a tireless servant of the Lord and limitless of care and love for those forgotten, those neglected and those in need.

His spirit burned bright and illuminated the joyful, whimsical and charitable aspects of everyone he encountered. Now it is our time to honor his memory by projecting that same light he spread through the world: Say hello to strangers. Give to others.

Show compassion and love to your fellow humans. Laugh with not just your voice, but with full-bodied, contagious booms that resonate with joy to those around you. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. William B. Jennings, Jr. will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Msgr.

Michael Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening, May 20, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Church, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 in his memory.
