Obituary William (Bill) F. Love, a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the age of 77. Bill was born on December 31, 1941 in McMinnville, Oregon to Adolph and Katherine Sloan Frid. As a young boy his father passed away and a few years later his mother remarried Eugene B. Love, who adopted Bill.
He was raised in Portland, Oregon where he went to Benson & Washington High Schools, then later received his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He received his master’s degree from Brigham Young University. He worked in Restaurant/Hospitality Management for most of his career and specialized in the layout and design of restaurants.
He was a registered dietician at the Lincoln City Hospital. He also worked for the LDS Church at the Portland Oregon Temple, Salt Lake City Temple and finished his career in the temple department retiring in 2003. He was a professor at Washington State University, Brigham Young University and Oregon State University.
On March 4, 1961 he married Linda Sue Orr. They raised one daughter, Robin, and four boys, Will, Bob, Ed and Tom. Bill had a passion for his family, grandchildren, friends, genealogy, sports and the Pacific Ocean.
He loved his Washington State Cougars! He was known for his storytelling, infectious smile, caregiving, service, mentoring and his kind and compassionate spirit. Bill was preceded in death by his father Adolph, mother Katherine, wife Linda, and sister Barbara.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Tanner Love, sisters Nancy (Ralph) Johnson, Susie (Mark) Gano, his six children Will (Vivian) Love, Robin (Ryan) Crapo, Bob (Laura) Love, Ed (Zanna) Love, Tom (Kathy) Love, Ray (Jen) Thornburg, as well as 23 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held in Seaside Oregon on Monday, May 6, 2019. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10 A.M. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S Vine St, Murray, Utah 84107.
