William “Bill”‘s Obituary William (Bill) C. McGee was born on August 6, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Clyde and Blanche McPhetrige McGee Bowman and entered his heavenly home on April 28, 2019 from his home in Moore, Oklahoma with his loving daughters at his side. Bill grew up in the Whitebead Community of Garvin County, Oklahoma where he attended Whitebead Elementary School and graduated from Pauls Valley High School. After graduation, Bill chose to bravely serve his country and enlisted in the Air Force on his 18th birthday on August 6, 1952.

On August 22, 1953 Bill married his high school sweetheart Virginia McKinley McGee and were lovingly married for 57 years. As a young newlywed, conflict erupted and Bill was called upon and courageously fought overseas in both the Korean War, from 1954-1955, and again during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970 and earned the Rank of TSGT. During his time in the military, Bill’s occupational specialties were as a member of the Military Security Police and as a Trainer of K-9 military dogs.

Following his time overseas, the military assigned Bill and Virginia, now with their three daughters Vicki, Debbie, and Terri, many changes of duty locations where they experienced life in: Salina, KS; Anchorage, AK; Burns Flat, OK; Denver, CO; and Wichita Falls, Texas. After a full military career, in 1972 Bill was honorably discharged and retired in Moore, Oklahoma where he and Virginia would spend their days together. Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife to Harlingen, TX every year in their motorhome to snowbird during the winter meeting many dear friends along the way.

Bill loved socializing, never met a stranger and had a charm that could sell ice to an Eskimo. Bill continued to be a servant to his community and served on the City Council of Moore, OK, was active in the American Legion and a member of the Security Police Group. His dearest passion; however, was his love for the Lord and he was an active member of the Carter Park Church of Christ.

Bill’s unwavering faith and eagerness to share his love for God brought many people to accept and follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Blanche McGee; his faithful wife, Virginia McGee in 2010; beloved daughter, Debbie Black in 2016; precious grandson Clayton Scheel in 2008; and two brothers Darold McGee and Harold McGee. Bill is survived by his daughters Vicki Thompson and husband Joe of Pauls Valley, Ok; Terri Lannom and husband Grant of Wagoner, OK; and son-in-law Don Black of Blanchard, OK.

Grandchildren Brent and Famie Thompson of Pauls Valley, OK; Courtney and Joe Moore of Tulsa, OK; Heather and Tom Hoeffner of Elmira, NY; Brandon and Dana Black of Edmond, OK; Kyle Black of OKC, OK; and Jennifer and Ty Matheny of Broken Arrow, OK. Brother, James McGee and sisters, Carole Haddock, Paula McGee and Mary Yates.

Although our hearts are saddened, we know he is rejoicing and reunited with his wife, daughter and grandson and we know we will someday see our Daddy, Grandpa, Brother in paradise.
