William “Billy”‘s Obituary William “Billy” Travis Ellis 44, of Edwardsville passed away Monday, April 29, 2019. He was born on May 12, 1974 in Granite City. He worked as a police officer (1994-1996 in Livingston, IL; 1997-2010 in Houston County, TN; and 2001-2003 in Waverly, TN), before going to work as a contractor in IL.

Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing karaoke, playing the drums, and watching the Tennessee Volunteers play football. He especially took pleasure in cheering against the Alabama Crimson Tide. He is survived by his two children, who he loved and cherished, Autumn Ellis and Will Ellis, both of Waverly, TN; his father and stepmother, William Thomas and Jo Marie Ellis of Staunton; and bother Bobby and his wife Dawn Ellis of Edwardsville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie G. (nee: Gafford) Ellis. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
