William was born June 8, 1950 in Mount Vernon, IL to Mr. and Mrs William T. Thorne and Doris (nee Barton). He married Kathryn (nee Burle) on May 19, 1972.

Beloved father of Marcianna Williams (Scott Dugger), Jennifer Torrez (Rick) and Elizabeth Thorne-Shanks (Jeremy Chapman); cherished grandfather of Rebecca Thorne-Greene, Jeffrey Shanks, William Owens, Zachary Shanks, Stephanie Williams, Sarbina Williams, Bruce Williams and Tyson Chappman and great-grandfather of Kimberly Thorne-Greene; loving brother of Elaine Thorne-Stinnett (Danny) and brother-in-law of Linda Thorne. William had many nieces, nephews and many adopted children. William was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Doris Thorne, his brother, Claude Thorne, his niece, Kimberly Brule and his nephew, Jason Thorne.

Services: Memorial Service Monday, January 21, 2019, 6:30 p.m. at ORTMANN’S, 9222 Lackland Rd. , Overland, MO 63114. Visitation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday.
