Bilenki, Will “Beans” On December 30, 2018 Will “Beans” Bilenki of Severna Park, formerly of Brooklyn Park and Curtis Bay. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Preceeded in death by his first wife and love of his life, wife Anna (nee Brzozowski).

He later married Romaine Ouimette. Devoted father of David Bilenki and Wife Judy and Louise Cundiff. Beloved Grandfather of Ann-Marie (Andrew), Jennifer (Jamie) and Holly.

6 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. Will enlisted in the Army in 1941. He was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division, and trained in San Antonio Texas.

During WWII, on D Day +1, his division landed Normandy at Omaha Beach. Staff Sargent Bilenki was wounded twice and sent back in to action, but on August 28, 1944, he stepped on a German land mine in Brest, France. Due to his severe injuries, he would become permanently disabled.

He was awarded 3 Purple Hearts, and a Bronze Star. In March 2015 he was inducted in to the French Legion of Honour as a Chevalier (Knight). This award is the highest decoration bestowed in France to American Veterans who served in France during WWI & WWII.

After an extensive recovery and return to the US, he was trained by the VA to become a Dental Technician until his retirement in 1983. He was one of the original members of the Curtis Bay Athletic Club. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years where he could work with his hands such as building birdhouses and you could always find him in a shirt covered with paint and in pants that matched.

Will was the last remaining Bilenki of the 8 Bilenki brothers and sister of Curtis Bay, and all were part of the Greatest Generation. Inurnment will be held on May 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: The Gary Sinise Foundation or to the Wounded Warrior Project www.
