OBITUARY William Dupras January 7, 1938 – January 2, 2019 William (Bill) Dupras, of Palm Bay Florida passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Holmes Reginal Medical Center in Melbourne Florida. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on January 7, 1938, the son of John Henry Dupras II and Lucille Lydia Lefevre. Bill served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1958 on the U.S.S. Wren.

He married Nancy Lee Breen on August 16, 1958 at St Joseph’s Church in Dannemora, NY. Bill attended SUNY Plattsburg receiving a BS (1971) and MS (1973) in Education. Bill began his career at NYSDOC in 1959 as a Correctional Officer.

After receiving his BS he started work as a Guidance Counselor at Clinton Correctional Facility later becoming Deputy Superintendent for Reception and Classification. He transferred to Adirondack Correctional Facility as Deputy Superintendent for Program Services in 1981 ending his career at Cayuga Correctional Facility on January 20, 1993. Bill was a member of Dannemora Volunteer Fire Department and lifetime member of the NRA.

He was a member of BPOE in NY and Fl and Exalted Ruler in Palm Bay Bill was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, John “Jack” Dupras III and Philip Dupras. Bill is survived by wife Nancy and four daughters; Michele (Glenn) Skinner with son Christopher O’Neill; Andrea (Mark) Pappalardo with sons Richard and Gregory Carlock; Janine (Patti Wright) Dupras with daughter Ashely Miner; Lynette (Richard) Craig with son Matthew and daughter Caitlin; and 8 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons. Also survived by siblings David, Myra (Ronald) Brooks, Michael (Billine), Robert; Sisiters in law Marie and Kim; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 6th from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm with services at 2:00 pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home and Crematory, 7359 Babcock St SE, Palm Bay, Fl 32909, 331-727-3997 In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart association or Alzheimer’s Association.
