Obituary for William J. “Bill” Reid CALEDONIA – September 26, 2018 at age 92. Predeceased by parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Reid; brothers, Robert and Francis Reid; grand¬daughters, Sharon Bishop and Erica Smutz. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris; their children, John Reid, and Debra (Steve) Bishop; grand¬children, Stephen Bishop, April (Jeff ) Mills; great-grandchildren, Breyanna and Jakob Bishop, Lliam and Kierdon Mills; brothers, Andy (Mary) Reid, Joseph Reid; sister-in-law, Cynthia Reid; several nieces and nephews.
Bill was a member of the Caledonia Fire Department for 74 years and served as past vice president. He was a founding member of the Caledonia Volunteer Ambulance. Bill was past chairman of the Caledonia Town Zoning Board of Appeals, past president of the Caledonia Grange, founding member of the Trail Blazers Snow Mobile Club.
He was a member of the Evangeline Presbyterian Stone Church and a member of the Caledonia Football Hall of Fame and the Caledonia Eunice Lodge # 830. In addition to being a lifelong farmer, Bill enjoyed woodworking Friends may call Sun¬day 6-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St., Caledonia. His Funeral Service will be held Monday 1 PM at the Evangelical Presbyterian Stone Church, 3177 Church St., Caledonia.
