William J. Koenig William (Bill) passed away May 5, 2019 at the age of 87. Born and raised in Buckley, WA, Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Paris, France. Following his time in the service, he graduated from Central Washington University, then continued his studies at the American University in Paris.

His love of languages led him to a career in teaching, working in Kirkland, South Bend, and at Tacoma’s Wilson and Foss High Schools. Bill was an avid reader, loved the opera and the arts. His heart was with God, family, and teaching.

He is survived by his sister Doris Wagner of Tukwila, nephew Paul Wagner of Plymouth, niece Lisa Wagner of Bellevue and his cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 1:00 p.m. at Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley. “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance”.
