Obituary for William Jackson Strickland William Jackson Strickland 1935-2018 Mr. Jack Strickland, 83 of Newnan, formerly of Smyrna, GA passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born February 12, 1935 in Coweta County, GA and was the only child to the late Comer Chestine Strickland and Lena Oneta Jones Strickland. He met Yvonne Hardy and they were married in 1956.

Jack proudly served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. After his military service, Jack and his wife moved to Smyrna in 1961 where they lived until moving to Newnan in 2015. He was a member of Smyrna Second Baptist Church.

Jack had a long career in telecommunications with Western Electric and later Lucent Technologies. Condolences can be expressed online at www. mckoon.com The visitation is Thursday, May 31, 2018 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA 30263.
