On November 4, 2018 William (Bill) Lyle James passed away peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer. He is survived by his three daughters: Jaclyn (Michael) Dunn, Jamie (Christopher) Forler, and Stephanie James, his seven grandchildren: Dre, Jadyn, Nadia, Ashton, Hunter, Kayne, and Anikah, his longtime girlfriend Barb Havemann and her children and grandchildren, and his best friend Vicky. Bill was born in 1951 in Wichita, Kansas.

He traveled the states and ended up settling in Appleton, Wisconsin. He enjoyed doing construction work, fishing, NASCAR, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and KU Jayhawks. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

His most cherished times were spent with his daughters and grandchildren. Bill made friends everywhere he went, most recently at The 10th Frame on Thursday afternoons. You would catch him sharing stories of his grandchildren and enjoying a Bud Light with is close friends that he treasured dearly.

A special thank you goes out to ThedaCare Oncology, Dr. Shannon Schmidt’s team, and the hospice team for all the care during his 1. 5 year journey. Your kindness, caring, and compassion have been indescribable.

There will be a Celebration of Life in honor of Bill on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at The 10th Frame. 618 W. Wisconsin Ave. Appleton, WI 54911.
