William Joseph Peters, age 87, of Manchester, passed away January 3, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. William was born November 4, 1931 in Munising, MI the son of Roy and Mazie Peters. On April 11, 1980 he married Janice Rhoades in Manchester and she survives.

William worked many years at Double A Products, in Manchester and later for the United States Postal Service. He liked country living and enjoyed caring for a variety of animals: sheep, cattle, dogs, rabbits, chickens and ducks. Bill was no stranger to hard work, helping his children complete many a construction project.

He built and finished many structures. He enjoyed being constantly busy with one project or another. In addition to his wife, Janice, William is survived by his children, Terry Peters and Diane Peters; step children, Tammy Rhoades and Craig Rhoades and grandchildren, Luke, Matthew, Ethan and Danni.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Peters. A memorial gathering for friends and relatives will be 2:00 to 4:00 P. M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.
