Obituary for William Keith Rule Born in Michigan to Phyllis and Bill Paulson in 1951. In high school he was a varsity swimmer and wrestler. He went to college to become a math teacher, started the cheer-leading squad and decided to hop in a van and travel the country.

He met and married Bobbi Sue Irwin in Estes Park and they settled in Castle Rock in 1979. He started Sunrise Nursery on Wilcox in 1979, moved to the current tree farm location in 1979. Bobbi and Logs had three children, Aubrey, 1979, Casey, 1982 and William, 1987.

He loved his family, his trees, his mountains and hes passions. He was a scuba diver, a sailboat racer, a hiker, a mountain climber, a mentor, a teacher, a comedian, a father, a friend, but most of all a caring man who always put others before himself. His laugh was contagious and will be sorely missed.

His generosity was unmatched, helping anyone out who seemed like they needed it. His grandson Arlo William brought him so much joy in his last months. His family was by his side in his home among the trees until the end.

Logs was preceded in death by his father Bill Paulson, his adoptive father Stuart Rule, and his brother Michael “Mickey” Rule. He is survived by his loving mother Phyllis Carey Rule, sisters Candace Ebbinghaus, Sue Greskowiak, brother Jack Paulson and their families. Logs planted many of the large trees in Castle Rock, and touched and hugged and loved many more.

When you hear the sound of the wind in the trees (psithurism) Logs has probably planted, hugged, or appreciated that tree. Give it a hug. His Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 on October 6, 2018 at the Treehuggers Tree Farm.
