Prairie du Chien, WI William L. “Bill” Batson age 84 of Prairie du Chien and formerly of Yorkville, IL passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Great River Care Center. He was born January 25, 1934 in Southern Missouri the son of Elmer and Sarah Pauline (Wells) Batson. He married Carol Woodrick on April 24, 1954 in Aurora, IL.

She preceded him in death on November 27, 2014. Bill worked as a beer deliveryman for Stroh’s and Miller High Life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

He will be missed by his friends at “The Port”. He is survived by his sons, William (Lois) Batson Jr. of N. Ridgeville, OH and Michael Batson of Prairie du Chien, his daughter Linda Gifford of Prairie du Chien, his sister Barbara (Don) Maxwell off Baltimore, MD, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by her parents, his wife, a brother Dean, a son in law John Gifford and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien with Rev. Bruce Hanson officiating. Interment will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle, IL.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM until the time of services. www.
