Obituary for William R. Collins William R. Collins Bill Collins (Just plain Bill), 82 of Eastlake OH, formerly Euclid, OH, passed away on December 30, 2018 at his residence after a year-long illness. Bill was born in Commodore, PA (Indiana County) on May 12, 1936 to the parents of Thomas R. and Beulah A. (Henry) Collins and graduated from Commodore High School, Class of 1955. Bill moved to Ohio after graduating from high school and worked at General Motors, Inland Div.

of Fisher Body, Euclid OH for 38 years. Bill played baseball for the Army Medics #428 during his drafted enlistment in the U.S. Army in Ft. Benning, GA from 1959 to 1961.

He also coached Euclid Boys Baseball League and Euclid Women’s Softball. Bill enjoyed woodworking and was proficient at repairing and restoring projects. His other interests included genealogy, stamp and coin collecting.

Bill was a member of the Cleveland Indians Wahoo Club and traveled extensively to baseball games around the country including FL and AZ spring training exhibition games. Bill and wife Helen were also host parents for the Lake County Captains and the Cleveland Indians. These men were like extended family to the Collins’.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Pfeiffer) Collins, whom he married on May 7, 1966, two sons, William (Rob) Collins and husband Chris Ciavarella, Tampa, FL and Kevin R. Collins and wife, Patty (Prucha) Collins, Eastlake, OH, two deeply loved grandsons, Matthew T. Collins and Brendan M. Collins, Sisters in Law, Cheryl Pfeiffer, Deckers Point, PA and Betty Erickson, Indiana, PA and numerous loveable nephews and nieces. Bill was the youngest of 15 children and the sole survivor of his immediate family. His siblings included James, Hugh, Mae Sapp, Thomas Jr., Beulah Davis, Joseph, Mary Bennett, Catherine Keshe Wilson, Betty Collins, infant Collins, Robert, Phyllis Frantz, Edgar and Agnes.

His niece Lena Carol Wyland, also deceased grew up with Bill as a sibling. Visitation will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 10am to 2pm a Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd. , Eastlake.

Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg.
