Obituary for William R. Ouzts William (Bill) Ouzts, 85, of Midwest City, OK, died peacefully May 23rd, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Born January 22, 1933 in Ninety-Six, South Carolina, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, mother, Lilly Bell, father JP, sisters Irene, Ruth, Margie, and brother Furman, and his beloved dog, Jake. Come and go visitation will be at Ford Funeral Service in Del City on Monday, May 28th from 12pm to 7pm with family available to meet friends from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 29th at 10am St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral in Oklahoma City (307 NW 4th St). Burial to follow. Bill finished High School in Greenwood, SC and joined the Air Force in 1951 to work with Radar Systems.

In 1953, he was sent to war in Korea. After his return, in 1958, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Ouzts in New York. A year later they moved to Oklahoma to begin a family.

Bill worked for Philco for ten years and then started a long career at Tinker Air Force Base. Survivors include his son, Bob Ouzts and wife Tammy, of Nicoma Park; and two daughters, Renae Ouzts of Plano, TX and Beth (Ouzts) Caldwell and husband Terry of Houston, TX. Grandsons Shane Ouzts and his wife, Ember; Cory Ouzts and his wife Brooke; Austin Caldwell, James McAllister, Joseph McAllister and granddaughter Avery Caldwell.

Great grandkids Indigo, Brodi, Owen, Henley, and another great granddaughter due in July. Bill enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and winning small bets against his family. He was an avid fisherman and could fix anything – small electronics, motorcycles, air conditioners, and cars.

He adored his family and his Midwest City community including many friends at his favorite restaurants the Pelican, Casa Juanito, and Venezia. Condolences may be left in Bill’s online guestbook at www. yourtribute.com.
