Obituary for William Rankin “Bubba ” McLure III William Rankin McLure III, affectionately known as “Bubba” was born September 30, 1954, to William Rankin McLure Jr. and Janice Snellgrove McLure. Her is survived by four sons: William Rankin McLure IV, Christopher Colin McLure, Patrick Zane McLure, and Matthew Elliot McLure. He is also survived by three sisters: Priscilla McLure Beasley, Deborah McLure Illyia, Melissa McLure Baker, and his aunt Nell Arnold, and other members of the Snellgrove family.
Bubba loved to fish and hunt and loved being outdoors. He spent many happy days with his sons at the farm, known as the “Homeplace” in Troy, AL. He and his children would stay outside for hours walking on the property, playing catch with the baseball, picking and boiling peanuts, taking care of Christmas trees, selling them at Christmas, and tending to quail he raised.
Bubba had a lot of pride and made decisions on his own to be alone in the end of his life, but he never lost the love he had for his boys. We know he held them in his heart, but he did not want to burden anyone. Bubba left this earth on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, as a proud and kind and wonderful man.
We believe he is in heaven and now has no more pain. We will miss him dearly, and we will hold onto our memories of Bubba forever. We will place some of his ashes today to leave them here with his Daddy and family because he loved them; and we loved him.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge, AL with Skeen Funeral Home directing. Rest in peace Bubba and know that you were loved by us all. To send flowers to the family of William Rankin “Bubba ” McLure III, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
