He was born on August 11, 1930 in Diamond, MO to William, Sr. and Cora Smith. He is preceded in death by his wife, Noma; his parents; daughter, Dorthy Paton; brothers, Monnie and Kay Smith; and sisters, Pansy Rea, Pearl Rea; and Monetta Manser. He is survived by his sons, Russell Smith(Tess), and William Smith, Jr.(Donna); daughters, Evelyn Rhoades(Bradley),Juna Trainque(Jerry), and Cora Shannon; and son-in-law, Mark Paton.
